Fulton County Taxpayers to Mayor Franklin

Letter to Mayor Franklin:

Dear Mayor Franklin,

Please reconsider the possibilities for managed competition for the City of Atlanta!

There is no need to raise property taxes and hold Taxpayers responsible when managed competition in just 5 areas could save $200 million annually!

  1. Fleet Services & Management, budgeted for 2009 at $29,787,032-if outsourced would save up to 38%! 1# PRIORITY!!!
  2. Solid Waste Collection, budgeted for 2009 at $42,240,000-if outsourced would save up to 60%!
  3. Parks and Recreation budgeted for 2009 at $32,571,509-if outsourced would save up to 40%!
  4. Airport Operations and Management budgeted for 2009 at $336,000,000-if outsourced would save up to 40%!
  5. Water and Wastewater together budgeted for 2009 at $439,139,692-if outsourced would save up to 25%!

For too long Atlantans have been burdened with the mis-management of our City. We should not have to pay for mistakes made at City Hall!

It’s time to consider how you will leave the City you have governed for the last seven years.

Sincerely,

p.s. I have added additional comments in the space provided.
